Health Department Continues Drive Against Vector Borne Diseases

As a part of its ongoing drive against vector borne diseases under ‘Tandarust Punjab Mission’ in the district,  the anti-larva cell of the Health department and the Municipal Corporation Jalandhar today detected cases of 11 dengue larva in various localities.On the directions of Mr. Sukhjinder Singh various teams led by Mr. Raj Kumar, Mr. Sarabjit, Mr. Gurpal Singh and Mr. Harjeet Singh undertook checking in Old Baradari, New Baradari, Chaughiti and Ladhewali localities. During the checking the team checked 240 houses, 111 waste containers and 79 air coolers. The team detected dengue larva at 11 air coolers.The team sprinkled medicine at 300 sites to prevent the further breeding of mosquitoes besides distributing 2000 chlorine tablets to people. The team also had detailed interaction with the people during which they apprised them that these places could act as a breeding ground for the mosquitoes to spread diseases like dengue, malaria and others.
