Asking bureaucrats not to forget that they are public servants, AIP President Er. Rasheed has strongly reacted to rude  behaviour shown by chief secretary to NC and BJP legislators in his office. While addressing party workers at Baramulla today Er. Rasheed said that while bureaucracy and public representatives must work in coordination for  the betterment of masses, it seems that the newly appointed chief secretary has a colonial mindset and does not know how to respect others.Er Rasheed said, “Political ideologies apart, elected public representatives should get proper attention when they approach officers seeking redressal  to public issues. The reports that chief secretary has compelled an NC MLA to leave his office and kept a BJP MLA waiting outside his office for nearly  an hour is unacceptable an insult o the state legislator. Chief Secretary has no right to do so and must not forget that he is simply a public servant and  a clerk to the government”.

Er Rasheed questioned silence of all political parties over the issue and said that if public representatives and political parties cannot protect their self- respect, what a common man can expect from the bureaucracy and the public representatives, as he has no access to power corridors.Er Rasheed asked chief secretary to mend his behaviour and obey the principle of mutual respect and division of labour or be ready to face the heat.  Speaking on the occasion Dr Sajad Subhan Rather appealed masses to support AIP so that rights and self-respect of everyone citizen are protected.  Dr Sajad added that AIP is the only platform which represents truly the sentiments of a common man and it is high time for people of the state to  strengthen AIP so that miseries of common masses come to an end.
