DDC Rajouri listens to public grievances at Sunderbani

District Development Commissioner Mohammad Aijaz Asad today listened to people’s grievances here at Sunderbani.Earlier during lasts two weeks, similar public grievance redress camps were held at Kalsian in Nowshera, Darhal and Manjakote.A large number of people hailing from over a dozen surrounding villages including Fulwari, Kund, Laman, Bindi, Parat, Devak, Murcholla, Beripattan, Siot, Hathal, Nah etc  turn up at the Public Darbar and put forth their demands, mainly related to development and service delivery in the area.They demanded improvement in water supply and power distribution, adequate doctors/staff in Sub District Hospital, payment of MGNREGA wages , removal of encroachment in town and on custodian land, adequate infrastructure at Sub-district hospital Sunderbani, timely payment of rent for land requisitioned by army, compensation of loss of wheat crop, provision of toilets in main market and hospital, completion of Water Supply Scheme Tapasvi Mohalla and creation of parking sites to address issue of traffic jam. The DDC assured the public that all their genuine demands would be redressed in a time bound manner.

 On the spot decision was taken to construct about 100 rain water harvesting tanks in Sunderbani. The DC set deadline of December 20, 2018 for completion of 50 MVA grid station in Sunderbani for addressing issue of power shortage. Provision of separate fire tender in Sunderbani besides development of a park and playground was also projected in the meeting. The DDC assured that matter regarding dedicated Fire Tender for Sunderbani shall be taken up with higher authorities.He also informed that sites have been identified for construction of passenger sheds and sanitary complexes in blocks of Sunderbani along National Highway and main roads. He further added that an adequate number of individual and community bunkers are being constructed  in villages along LOC for safety of  civilians during cross  border shelling.He directed the concerned officers to work with zeal, devotion and dedication so as to provide facilities to people at their door steps. He said that the government has launched various schemes and programmes for people and they should come forward to avail the benefits.A team of officers of local administration led by ADC Sunderbani Gurmukh Singh and comprising CPO Abdul Hamid Chowdary, DPO Dr Abdul Khabir, DSWO Naseeb Ahmad, AD FCS & CA Javaid Iqbal, AD Fishery M S Wani, CMO Dr Suresh Gupta, BDO Sandeep Sharma, CDPO and other district and tehsil officers were also present at the public meeting.
