As a part of its ongoing drive against vector-borne diseases under ‘Tandarust Punjab Mission’ in the district, the anti-larva cell of the Health Department and the Municipal Corporation Jalandhar detected 12 dengue larva cases in various areas of the city. Four teams led by Mr Balwinder Singh, Mr Raj Kumar, Mr Gurvinder Bajwa and Mr Gurpal Singh undertook to check in Guru Nanak Pura, Old Baradari, Navi Baradari, Main Post Office and Nehru Garden Hostel.During the checking, the team members checked 250 houses, 52 waste containers and 92 air coolers. The members also distributed 3000 chlorine tablets among the people .The team members also held detailed interaction with the people during which they apprised them that these places could act as a breeding ground for the mosquitoes to spread diseases like dengue, malaria and others.
