3 MoUs Inked In Presence Of Cooperation Ministers Of Punjab & Maharashtra

Coming 2 Months To See Markfed Kiosks Being Established In Sholapur, Nagpur & Mumbai: Randhawa

After Vadodara in Gujarat its destination Maharashtra for Markfed as it is going to establish kiosks in the state for its products. As many as 3 MoUs were inked today at Mumbai between Markfed and the cooperative sector undertakings of Maharashtra in the presence of the Cooperation Minister, Punjab, Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa and his counterpart the Cooperation and Textile Minister, Maharashtra, Subhashji Deshmukh.In a meeting held between the higher officials of the cooperation departments of both the states at the government guest house at Malabar hills area in Mumbai, S. Randhawa said that farming sector forms the backbone of the economic structure of both the states. He called for the initiation of a strong and joint cooperative movement by both Punjab and Maharashtra and said that both the states are capable of being the leading light for whole country in cooperation sphere. He further said that owing to the depleting land holdings the farming sector today faces a grave threat. S. Randhawa extended the invitation to his counterpart from Maharashtra for gracing the occasion of Cooperation Week in November this year as Chief Guest to which the latter agreedSpeaking on the occasion, the Cooperation Minister of Maharashtra Mr. Subhashji Deshmukh invited Markfed to sell its products in all the 35 districts of Maharshtra and said that the products manufactured by the cooperative corporations of Maharashtra should be available for selling in the 22 districts of Punjab. 

Thanking S. Randhawa for coming to Mumbai for bilateral dialogue, Mr. Deshmukh said that this initiative would go a long way in taking forward the cooperative movement.Afterwards releasing a joint programme, both the cooperation ministers said that in the coming 2 months the kiosks selling Markfed products would come up in Sholapur, Nagpur and Mumbai and similarly as part of the first phase, the products of the all 3 markfed undertakings of Maharashtra would be available for sale in the Markfed centres at Chandigarh, Amritsar, Ludhiana and Jalandhar followed by the other districts too.In the aftermath of this, the agreements were inked on behalf of Markfed by its MD Mr. Varun Roojam whereas the MD of Maharashtra Markfed Dr. Yogesh Mahase,  MD Vidarbha Cooperative Development Corporation Mr. Hari Babu and MD Mumbai Cooperative Development Corporation Mr. Milind Aakre signed on the dotted line.On the occasion Chairman Markfed Mr. Amarjit Singh Samra, MLA Mr. Harpartap Singh Ajnala, Additional Chief Secretary Cooperation, Punjab, Mr. D.P. Reddy, Additional Chief Secretary Cooperation, Maharashtra Mr. S.S. Sandhu, Additional Chief Secretary Marketing Mr. Vijay Kumar, Additional Managing Director Markfed Punjab Mr. Bal Mukand Sharma, OSD (Fertilizers) Mr. Gagan Walia and Senior Marketing Manager Mr. Mandeep Singh Brar were also present.
