Haryana Police has arrested Aalim, involved in looting a truck laden with copper wire worth Rs. 65 lakh near Shahjahanpur in Rajasthan. While giving this information today, a spokesman of Police Department said that arrested person Aalim is a resident of Utavad in district Palwal. The police has recovered the truck and also seized one country made pistol, two cartridges and a shell from his possession.The spokesman said that on the intervening night of April 13 and 14, Aalim along with his other accomplices had looted the 22 tire Trola near Shahjahanpur in Rajasthan by stopping his car in front of the Trola. He said that on the information of Rajasthan Police, the police laid barricades on Sabi Bridge on NH-8, near Dharuhera in district Rewari. On seeing the police barricade on the road, the accused with the intention of crushing the policemen under their vehicle, hit the barricade with high speed and then jumped into the river and tried to flee from the spot by taking the advantage of darkness. When the police chased the accused, they opened fire on them in which Assistant Sub Inspector (ASI) Mr. Surat Singh received injuries and had a narrow escape, he added. After relentless efforts, the police caught hold of the accused.He said that the police has recovered the Trola filled with copper wire worth Rs. 65 looted from  Shahjahanpur in Rajasthan. After producing him to the Court, the accused is under three-day police remand. More such incidents of loot on highways could be traced during the interrogation of the alleged accused, he added.
