Delegation of Spiti valley calls on the Jai Ram Thakur

A delegation of Spiti valley led by the Agriculture, Tribal Development and Information Technology Minister Dr Ram Lal Markanda called on the Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur at Oakover here today.The delegation urged the Chief Minister to ask the concerned department to deposit the  Net Present Value (NPV)  in lieu of the some area of forest land to be transferred for construction of Indian Institute of Buddhist Studies, a deemed University coming up at Tabo, in Spiti area. The Union Government has sanctioned Rs. 55 crore for setting up of this University at Tabo in Lahaul-Spiti district.The delegation also urged the Chief Minister to open Community Health Centre at Tabo, so that people of the area could get better health services nearer to their home.The Chief Minister assured that the State Tribal Department would deposit Rs. 55 lakh as NPV at the earliest so that the construction work of the Institute could be started at the earliest.Serkhanj Rinpoche, Khempo, former Minister Phungchung Rai, District BJP President Rajinder Bodh were also present on the occasion.
