Apart from this, he also visited many dairy farms to gather more education and information about this work. In 2014, Amit procured a piece of small land in Todarmajra where he started dairy farming with 30 cows. He worked hard and burnt night oil with just one dream to become successful in this new profession. He has been supplying the entire milk procured from his farm to the Verka and now his business is expanding. Amit Thakur revealed that the only path to success is through hard work. Many times hurdles comes in the way but one should always be hopeful and the problems itself are converted into solutions. He said that the dairy farming is a kind of business which cannot be left on the shoulders of other persons. Dairy farmer's involvement into this trade is mandatory or else production reduces and the business starts collapsing. He sells this entire lot of milk to the Verka at a cost of Rs 27/Rs 28 per liter every day.In a bid to get additional income he has now decided to try his hand in retail sector as well wherein he would go house to house to sell milk. By doing this he would be able to sell milk at a cost of Rs 45 to Rs 50 per liter. He said that the demand of pure milk in the urban areas is quite high and to fulfill this demand people are ready to pay more money as well. He has also decided to adopt Referral Business Model for marketing purpose.First he would sell milk to his known people and due to the good quality of his milk, these known people would further encourage others to buy milk from his Dairy Farm. In this way his business would be expanded and during this procedure he would only concentrate over the quality of the milk.In the year 2016, he has also obtained a 15 days training from Dairy Development Department before going for the Dairy Farming. Now the department would provide him BMC (Bulk Milk Cooler) and the machine used to pack milk.He has also participated in the International Fest organized in connection with the Dairy Farming. He is always in contact with the officials of the Dairy Development Department and keep on increasing his knowledge about Dairy Farming. He is of the view that the youngsters having good education should not allow to slip themselves into the dark holes of despair but instead they should use their educational qualification as a weapon, with the help of the Dairy Development Department to make the state of Punjab a developing and Tandarust.
