Commissioner Secretary Forests, Environment & Ecology Department, Saurabh Baghat, reviewed the performance and achievements of the Soil & Water Conservation Department, J&K here today.The meeting was attended by P.K. Singh, IFS PCCF/ Director, Soil & Water Conservation Department along with the representatives of the department, Special Secretary (Technical), Director Finance, Forest Department, Additional Secretaries Forests Department, Dy. Secretary (Legal), Assistant Director, Planning Forest Department, besides other officer/ officials of the Administrative Department.The issues relating to SRO-520, CAPEX & OPEX, the status of BAS and ongoing departmental activities including CAMPA were discussed threadbare in the meeting by the Commissioner Secretary.The brief resume of activities of the Department were presented through power point presentation by the Director SWCD, J&K, which include organizational set­up viz-a-viz sanctioned and required staff strength, Physical and Financial achievements of the department and initiatives undertaken to conserve the Soil & Water resources of the state by way of constructing WHS, up-gradation/ restoration of existing ponds etc.The Commissioner Secretary Forests appreciated the work done by the J&K SWCD and issued directions for implementation of ongoing activities in a time bound manner and assured that wherever the need of Government is required all kind of help shall be provided in letter and spirit. He also issued directions to frame Annual Report of the Departmental activities for last one year. The Director SWCD, J&K assured that the directions issued in this behalf shall be implemented at the earliest in a time-bound manner.
