Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J.Jayalalithaa Thursday charged DMK MP A.Raja of not doing anything to his constituency but being instrumental in the country losing around Rs.2 trillion in the allocation of telecom spectrum."Raja did not bring any projects to Nilgiris. But as a minister in the Congress-led government, Raja was instrumental in the nation losing around Rs.2 lakh crore (two trillion) in the allocation of 2G spectrum allocation," she said, addressing an election rally in this Tamil Nadu constituency, around 555 km from Chennai. She wondered why the DMK did not exit the United Progressive Alliance (UPA) government at the centre in 2010 itself if it had believed that Raja was not involved in the scam.

Jayalalithaa also charged Raja of not following the request of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to follow a transparent procedure in allocation of spectrum.Questioning the various decisions of Raja in the spectrum allocation, Jayalalithaa also said she wondered why Raja wrote to the prime minister, saying that auctioning spectrum would be one sided and not justifiable.Jayalalithaa also said that recently the Income Tax department has sent a notice to the television channel owned by DMK president M.Karunanidhi's family members to pay Rs.113 crore tax within 30 days.Faulting the economic policies of the UPA government, Jayalalithaa said investments and exports went down while imports, inflation and prices went up.
