Ludhiana Rural Police Arrest Eight Persons With Heroin, Opium And Intoxicant Tablets In Three Separate Cases

On the direction of,  Suresh Arora, IPS DGP Punjab, Ranbir Singh Khatra, IPS, DIG, Ludhiana Range and Sh. Surjit Singh IPS, SSP, Ludhiana (Rural) addressed the press that one youth had died at village Swadi Kalan PS Sidhwan Bet due to overdose of drug. In this case, a SIT was formed to investigate the case. After inquiry, case FIR no. 201 dated 30.06.2018 u/s 304 IPC, 21-27-29/61/85 NDPS Act registered at PS Sidhwan Bet.During the investigation, it was found that deceased Kuljeet Singh s/o Sukhwinder Singh r/o village Swadi Kalan was a drug addict and treated many times in de-addiction centre, was admitted for six moth treatment in de-addiction centre Rasularha in Khanna.He forced his parents to discharge him from the centre. The ASI Jasvir Singh often visited the house of the deceased for counseling and advised them not to discharge Kuljeet Singh from de-addiction centre. But 5/7 days prier to the incident, he came to the village. Pushpinder Singh and Gurpreet Singh both brothers, are residents of village Swadi Kalan and they are also consuming the drug.  They supplied the drug to deceased Kuljeet Singh and after injecting the drug he died due to overdose.During the investigation, it was found that Pushpinder Singh and Daljit Singh supplied the drug to Kuljeet Singh and have got the drug from Harpreet Singh @ Gulzari s/o Buta Singh r/o village Malak P.S. Sadar Jagraon.

After thorough investigation Harpreet Singh @ Gulzari disclosed that he got the assignment from Sushil and Sunil sons of Chotu Ram r/o village Pilli Mandori, Distt. Fatehabad, Haryana and they supplied the drug to Harpreet @ Gulzari on June 26/27. Sushil and Sunil both are drug supplier and earlier a case FIR no. 114 dated 15.03.2018 u/s 21/61/85 NDPS Act. registered at P.S. Sidhwan Bet and the Police recovered 11 gram heroine from the accused and one case FIR no 80 dated 14.04.2017 u/s 21/61/85 NDPS Act. also registered at P.S. Div. no. 07 Ludhiana and both were bail out. 

During investigation Sunil Kumar confessed that he supplied the drug to Harpreet Singh @ Gulzari and the Police recovered 515 gram heroine of more than Rs. 2.5 Crore, from the accused. This recovery was effected u/s 27 Evidence Act.During further investigation it was found that Gurjeet Singh s/o Jarnail Singh and Baljit Singh s/o Jagjit Singh r/o village Swadi Kalan are running Toor medical store in the village and Gurjeet Singh has a Lab in the village. They both supplied the syringes/ intoxicants to the youths without any prescription of any doctor. Both were also arrested in this case Police recovered syringes and other intoxicants from them.In this case, one Malkeet Singh s/o Karnail Singh r/o village Swadi Kalan was also found involved in drug-related activities and he purchased two tractors and two Motor Cycles by earning money from Narcotics. The Police recovered 150 Tablets SR from Malkeet Singh.The following accused persons were arrested and recovery effected from the accused. In this case the investigation was conducted up to the origin of drug and Police recovered the drugs and also arrested the persons involved in supplying the drug and material. This type of Chain investigation conducted first time in Punjab by the District Ludhiana (Rural) Police to be example for others to follow.
