Envisioning a big victory of the  NC-Congress alliance candidates in the current Parliamentary Elections, the Senior NC leader and Minister for Finance and Ladakh Affairs Abdul Rahim Rather Thursday said that the people of the state have always rejected communal and pisive forces. He said tendency of communalising politics has posed a big challenge before the secular and peace loving people adding that need of the hour was to thwart their nefarious designs unitedly.Addressing public meetings at Panzan and Dedmari Bagh in tehsil chadoora, Rather cautioned the people against opportunist and communal  political parties like PDP and BJP who try to hoodwink  people by hollow promises and emotional  slogans  adding that such parties are habitual of changing  their colours like chameleons’ to deceive the electorate for their vested interests. He said sagacious people of the state are politically matured to understand their double stand.Rather said in lust of power, polarization of the society by exploitation of religious and regional sentiments of the people is their last tool to satiate their political interests, notwithstanding the fact that it was against the states glorious history of secularism and communal harmony.

He urged the people to reject such parties and give a massive mandate to alliance candidates of NC and Congress parties which have conceived a comprehensive and perspective strategy for re-structuring of the turmoil ravaged state under the leadership of Omar Abdullah. He said the coalition between NC and Congress has come into existence in the larger interests of the people of the state after in-depth discussions of the top leadership of these two secular parties. While presenting an overview of the landmark achievements of the coalition Govt., Rather said that opposition parties are un nerved and are desperately trying to misled people by resorting to lie and deceit. He also gave a detailed account of the developmental works made in the charar-i-sharief constituency during the last five and a half years adding that a vast road network has been constructed besides opening new colleges, schools and health institutions.
