In order to ensure proper cleanliness and beautification around the roads, the Public Work Departments (PWD) has started a fortnight cleanliness drive under mission ‘Tandrust Punjab.Divulging the details, PWD Executive Engineer (XEN) Rakesh Garg said that in the drive, the sides along with the roads will be cleaned and weeds or shrubs will be removed so that the commuters on the roads do not feel any kind of disturbance. Garg told that this drive will ensure beautification of about 50 kilometres of road falling under the division including Lakha Jhordan to Burj Kularan, Chappar to Lohat Baddi, and Pakkhowal to Thakkarwal.He added that the department is committed for ensuring clean, green and pollution free environment in the district and this campaign will prove beneficial in achieving this goal.
