City pins hopes on BJP’s MP candidate Kirron Kher

The city wore a festive look with residents dancing to tune of the Bharatiya Janata Party’s anthem on the last day of the canvassing. Slogans in the favour of BJP’s prime ministerial candidate, Narendra Modi filled the air as the party’s MP candidate Kirron Kher’s road-show went to various areas of the Chandigarh. She was accompanied by the BJP’s State President, Sanjay Tandon, former MP Satya Pal Jain and other party workers. the first leg of the road-show which was kicked-off from the village Khuda Lahora drew curious crowds and enthusiastic youth including many who were volunteering to canvass for the MP candidate. Kirron Kher, Sanjay Tandon along with other senior party cadre greeted and waved to the people who had come outside of their houses to see the cavalcade.Following the route map the caravan reached at market of sector 11 which is better known as Chandigarh’s ‘Geri route’. The party’s supporters welcomed the convoy which moved towards the sector 10. 

Halting at every one kilometer and holding mike Kirron Kher sought the people's support in strengthening her battle against congress misrule to bring the development in the city.“On the road we have taken there will be many challenges to overcome. We are ready for each of them under the leadership of Narendra Modi. The road ahead looks promising and I am sure that future will be brighter under NDA’s rule”, she said.The road show passed through the markets and residences of Sectors 9, 8 and 7. The convoy also distributed stickers, flags, caps, masks of Modi and badges among the masses. Urging the people, Sanjay Tandon said, “On April 10, press the button carrying party’s symbol ‘Kamal’ on Electronic Voting Machines (EVMS) for Kirron Kher. Seeing the large turn-out of supporters, it is clear that the wave is in the favour of BJP and Modi. Today, the issues that are being raised by Modi are very relevant and it is a lot to do with a nation-building exercise, which has made the young voter especially very enthusiastic. I am sure that the intellectual and discerning voters of this reputed city will strengthen the BJP against the ills plaguing the country”.

The actor and husband of the MP candidate, Anupam Kher joined the cavalcade at the sector 26. He asked the people to support Kirron who has a clean image and has a vision for the city. Many fans of both Kirron and Anupam came to take autographs and clicked their photos. “I would like it if fans became voters and the voters became fans”, Anupam said. After this, the convoy kept moving towards Bapu Dham Colony spreading the awareness on BJP’s ideologies and travelled through Modern Housing Complex. Then the cavalcade reached to Indira colony where people enjoyed the spectacular show. Especially women were full of enthusiasm here and waved back towards Kirron and Anupam. Wearing the caps and masks of their favourite leader Narender Modi children were singing ‘Hum Modi ji ko lane wale hai, ache din aane wale hai’. The first leg of the road show finished at the Motor Market of Manimajra where the mood of celebration was evident. 

The second round of the road show took off in the afternoon from the sector 61. The caravan travelled in the sectors 52, 43, 44, 45, 46, 47 and also went to the Industrial area, phase 2, Ramdarbar. After this, the road show touched the sectors 29, 30, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, 15 and reached at the final destination at party office, sector 33 today. Kirron Kher and Anupam Kher addressed the media and duo informed that the BJP had received an exceptional response.“From today’s show, it is clear that BJP is the frontrunner in Chandigarh and set to win the Lok Sabha seat. Following the Modi’ command, I have come here to contest and if voted to power then I will stay here to serve the common man”, Kirron said.
