CEC inspects works on 200 bedded hospital in Kargil

Chairman and Chief Executive Councilor Kargil Kacho Ahmad Ali Khan today inspected the ongoing works on construction of the  1st phase of 200 bedded hospital at Kurbathang Kargil.Executive Councilor for Health Muhammad Hussain, Executive Councilor for Power Advocate Muhammad Amir, Chief Medical Officer Kargil Dr Ibrahim  Khan, other concerned officers and specialist doctors accompanied the CEC.The CEC went around the under-construction hospital where the engineers apprised him about the work in progress on the Service Block,  Central Block, Left Wing, Right Wing besides other components of the 5 storey structure.Giving details about the physical and financial progress achieved on the project so far, the concerned engineers informed the CEC that out of Rs 46  crores and 56 lacs sanctioned under PMDP for execution of work on Phase I of the project, an expenditure to the tune of Rs 5 crores and 84 lacs has  been registered till now, almost 30% of the work has been completed adding Rs 115 crores have been earmarked for completion of work under Phase  II.

The CEC while discussing the DPR and design for the project with the concerned engineers asked for necessary alterations to add required features in  the design. Kacho while soliciting feedback of specialist doctors with regard to the location of OPDs, wards, OTs, labs and other sections specifically  directed the engineers to bring out alterations if any based on their recommendations.The CEC also issued directions to keep sufficient provision for modern labs and space to add beds by making judicious use of available land in the  hospital premises.Later the CEC visited Government land patch near Kargil Airport where he gave on spot directions to the Tehsildar Kargil for allotment of 100 kanals of  land for construction of Eklavya Model Residential School under Tribal Sub Plan in the district which is coming up at a cost of Rs 16 crores.Kacho directed the concerned to carry out demarcation of the land identified for the construction of the Residential School and stressed for completion  of the paper formalities at the earliest so that work on the project could be kick started well in time.
