Welcoming the report of United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights on the situation of Human Rights in Kashmir, AIP Supremo and MLA Langate Er. Rasheed has asked all the concerned parties to introspect and uphold the human rights of people of J&K on both the sides of LOC.In a statement issued today Er. Rasheed said that accepting right to self-determination for Kashmiris on both the sides of LOC by the Human Rights Organization should be welcomed by all. He added that the report has exposed the gross root human rights violations in Indian Administered Kashmir at various levels by the security forces. He said “The report has vindicated the stand of those who have been constantly accusing New Delhi of violating the rights of Kashmiris and subjecting them to worst kind of state terrorism.Whatsoever New Delhi has been arguing to justify its inhuman actions and operations in Kashmir has fallen flat. Not only Govt. of India but the world community must certainly wakeup and understand that what Kashmiris have been crying all these years is not only propaganda but the reality and New Delhi must stop befooling masses within and outside India”.

He said that the report has given New Delhi a chance to reconsider its harsh and inhuman policies and if it truly believes in dialogue process it must release all political prisoners. He said   “Denying bail to political prisoners only for the reason that it would force Hurriyat to come to table is unfortunate. From Geelani Sahab to Syed Salah-ud-din every pro-resistance individual and party have always offered their willingness to talk. If Govt. of India doesn’t take further measures like releasing political prisoners including Masrat Alam, Sarjan Barkati, Qasim Faktoo and others, the dividends of ceasefire can never be achieved and the ceasefire may prove a futile exercise”.Er. Rasheed while expressing sympathy with the family of prominent lawyer Advocate Ab. Majeed Watali, the brother of Mr. Zahoor Ahmad Watali lodged in Tihar Jail, appealed government not to oppose the bail application of Mr. Watali on humanitarian grounds. He said that New Delhi should not deprive Kashmiri prisoners of their right to get bail and especially when Mr. Zahoor Watali has lost his brother, as a goodwill gesture government should not make it an issue to release him on parole, as many have been given parole from time to time.  (PTK)
