Strict action against illegal Land fillers along National Highway : DDC Pulwama

District Development Commissioner Pulwama Ghulam Mohammad Dar today visited the spot at Awantipora where a stretch of land was filled illegally by the people near National Highway.He was accompanied by ADC Awantipora, Tehsildar Awantipora, SHO and officials of the revenue department.Speaking on the occasion DDC Pulwama said that despite a complete ban on landfilling and construction along National Highway, a lot of complaints have surfaced wherein people are seen filling land illegally at Awantipora and other areas of the District.However, DDC on spot ordered for the removal of filling from the said patch of land and directed that the filled land be now treated as state land. DDC said that some unscrupulous elements want to use agriculture land for non-agricultural activities, which can never be permitted.DDC exhorted upon the officers that such unscrupulous elements should be dealt stringently as per law and wherever required, FIR should be lodged against illegal land fillers and their machinery be seized, so that such illegal activities are prevented to safeguard the agricultural land of the District.
