Selection of Landing Sites for Helitaxi Services soon : Chief Secretary

Chief Secretary, Vineet Chawdhry alongwith the officers of Pawan Han Helicopter Company, Deputy Commissioner, Kullu Yunas and other officers of district administration today visited Rohtang in order to select various landing sites for helitaxi followed by the announcement made by the Chief Minister to start helitaxi services from Manali to Rohtag in order to boost tourism in the region.He said that various suitable sites have been seen and identified at Rohtang and its adjoining. He said that for landing of helitaxies on these identified sites the selections would be made according to rule and after completing all codel formalities the landing sites would be developed soon.Chief Secretary said that for starting the helitaxi services to Rohtang from Manali a team from Civil Aviation of GOI is reaching at Manali this week, which will finalize the helitaxi landing sites identified by the district administration. He said with the start of helitaxi services, tourist would get rid of traffic congestion of eight to ten hours and could reach at Rohtang within a few minutes. He said that with the start of helitaxi service would increase the tourism activities in the region which would provide more self employment opportunities to the youths.
