Governor Acharya Devvrat witnesses Magic Show

Governor Acharya Devvrat visited historic Gaiety Theatre Shimla to witness the Magic Show of famous Magician Samrat Shankar   alongwith his family members here late last evening.Speaking on the occasion, Governor said that magic was an old form of entertainment and there were very few practitioners left now. He said that it was a fine art and Samrat Shankar was master of this art.He lauded the efforts of Samrat Shankar who was promoting it across the globe. He appreciated him for spreading various messages of social importance including environment protection, importance of girl child, water conservation, female foeticide etc. through his shows.Governor also honoured Samrat Shankar with Himachali shawl and cap.Welcoming the Governor, Samrat Shankar said that people of Himachal Pradesh are very friendly and liked his shows. He said that he had presented about 28000 shows in India and abroad out of which about 23000 were charity shows.
