DC Kulgam reviews arrangements for Shab -e-Qadr, Eid-ul-Fitr

District Developmental Commissioner (DDC) Kulgam Sajad Hussain today convened a meeting of officers to review and finalize the arrangements for Shab -E-Qadr and Eid-ul-Fitr. During the meeting, DC directed FCS&CA Kulgam to ensure strict implementation of government approved rate list. The DC  also directed the concerned to intensify market checking to keep a check on profiteering, hoarding and overcharging by shopkeepers across the district.The DDC said that erring vendors, shopkeepers and traders should be booked for violating the rate list. He directed concerned to ensure availability of essential commodities in the market including vegetables and poultry besides timely supply of Gas, Kerosene, Flour and Sugar from the government depots to the consumers. With regard to healthcare, the meeting was informed health officers that required steps have been taken and adequate staff and ambulances shall be available at various health centres across the district.The meeting was also informed that Animal Husbandry shall keep three lakh birds available across the district for sale at different centres including mobile sale centres.  

Fisheries Department was asked to make available carp and trout for sale at prominent public places across the district.Stressing on the uninterrupted power and water supply across the district, DC asked XENs of PDD and PHE to sensitize their ground level staff to ensure that hassle-free water and electricity supply is provided to the consumers. The DDC  also hails  PDD department for providing better service so far during the days of Holy month. DC directed concerned to intensify cleanliness drive in the district with a focus on roads, lanes, drains and regular lifting of wastage from markets.The DDC also asked the concerned to install new and repair defunct street lights and high mast lights at Mosques, prominent Shrines of the district where required. Further, DDC directed the concerned to ensure plying of public transport during evening times in all towns for the commuters. Besides the magistrates were asked to remain vigilant and keep close liaison with the police authorities and the Fire Service authorities were directed to remain in a state of preparedness to deal with any eventuality.The meeting was attended by Executive engineers of PDD, PHE, ARTO, and other district officers and members of Auqaf committee.
