Taking serious note of undue delay in issuance of pension cards and pension to persons with special needs, Member of Parliament (MP) Ravneet Singh Bittu on Thursday called a meeting of the officials concern on June 8 and asked them to come with detailed report about the pending cases.He was speaking to the persons with special needs in the camp held at King Palace, near Sundar Nagar in the Ludhiana central constituency.MP also added the councillors of Municipal Corporation will also take part in the meeting so that the more eligible cases can be considered.Bittu stated that on Thursday, as many as 377 persons got registered them in the camp to whom the wheelchairs, tricycles, hearing aid, speaking devices, artificial limbs and other things worth Rs 28.35 lakh will be distributed at free of cost.MP added that these camps are being organized by Social Security, Women and Child Development department with the support of district administration.Revealing about the schedule of the camps, Bittu said that on June 8, the camp will be held in Ludhiana North, on May 11 in GLADA community centre (Ludhiana East), on June 12 in Gill Garden Resorts (Gill Constituency), on June 13 in Dr. Ambedkar Bhawan (Dakha Constituency) and the last camp will be held in Vimal Muni Hall, Sadar Market, Jagraon on June 14 in Jagraon constituency.MLA Surinder Dabar and Senior Deputy Mayor Sham Sunder Malhotra and others were also present.
