Ensure proper maintenance of National highway for Shri Amarnathji Yarta : DDC Ramban

To ensure the smooth flow of vehicular traffic on NH 44,District Development Commissioner Tariq Hussain Ganai, today convened a meeting with the officers and representatives of construction companies of   National projects operating in the district.The meeting was attended by SSP Mohan Lal,   ADC Gurvinderjeet Singh, Tehsildars, ARTO, PD NHAI Jammu and representatives of the companies HCC, GAMMON India, Navayuga, Ramkey, M/S Euroestudios SL, besides other officers.Keeping in the view forthcoming Shri Amarnathji Yatra 2018 and taking into account importance of prestigious four lane work,  DDC issued instructions to the companies engaged on job for removing all bottlenecks on National Highway.DC directed for proper maintenance of National Highway by the companies in their respective areas to ensure public convenience. DDC directed the concerned authorities to ensure smooth and safer passage of the traffic by ensuring proper maintenance of NH44 at all crucial places from Nashri to Jawahar tunnel. Various measures being taken up by the construction companies in this connection were also discussed in the meeting.

During the meeting critical bottlenecks were identified at Dhalwas, Perah, Kunfer, Karol , Mehar, Seri, Batery chashma,Digdole, Panthyal, Ramsoo, Gangroo Khoni Nallah, Rattan Bass and Hingni and deadline has been fixed for taking immediate necessary action. He directed all construction companies who have been granted the responsibilities of maintenance of NH44 and old NH from Patnitop to Nashri tunnel that any dereliction in their responsibilities and maintenance of NH1A shall be viewed seriously and stringent actions under rules shall be initiated. He directed the representatives of NH44 for fixing of crash barriers at accident prone areas , sprinkling of water on road and installation of  signboards bearing important contact numbers along the national highway besides maintaining NH44 for providing hassle free road journey to the Yatries.  Various local issues were also discussed in the meeting and DDC directed the concerned authorities to resolve the issues on priority.
