DC for customized classes, timely completion of syllabus

Deputy Commissioner Budgam, Mohammad Harun Malik today ordered conducting extra classes at all higher secondary schools for students to ensure timely completion of syllabus.DC issued these orders while chairing a first-ever meeting to take academic review of all the government higher secondary schools in the district wherein students from various institutes held a threadbare interaction with him.The meeting was attended by Chief Education Officer, Abdul Rouf Shahmiri, CPO Abdul Rasheed, Principals and Senior Lecturers of various Higher Secondary Schools.Stressing on the timely completion of syllabus in all subjects of streams taught at government institutions, DC said that principal as head of the institution should ensure that extra classes be conducted by the concerned lecturers.“A principal is not only responsible for his personal subject which s/he is teaching but also for the administration of the institution,” DC said.On the occasion, DC also interacted with the students to have a firsthand information about their level of learning and the amount of syllabus completed.Meanwhile, the DC directed principals to strictly maintain the Biometric attendance of their staff and treat latecomers with causal leave. The principals were asked to conduct target-based profiling of students with regard to their aptitude and competencies so that the deficiencies if any can be addressed through customized extra classes.
