DDC on generation of maximum awareness to preserve environment

With the aim to celebrate World Environment Day, Elsamex Maintenance Services Limited(EMSL) organized a painting competition on the topic “Protection of Environment” at Chenani Nashri Tunnel, here today.District Development Commissioner, Ravinder Kumar was the chief guest on the occasion who accompanied by other dignitaries planted saplings outside the tunnel area.Students of four schools participated in the competition.While speaking on the occasion, DDC said such programmes generate awareness among people towards sustainable environment. He further said collective efforts of all stakeholders is a must for protection of Earth and to build a greener world.He also said there is a need for strong awareness among all the members of society regarding the protection of our environment and maintenance of cleanliness in the surrounding.Head Tunnel Operation, Er Chander Dev Jamwal said the objective of celebrating Environment Day was to make younger generation more sensitive towards environmental protection.  He also spoke on environmental sustainability during the programme.Later, DDC also distributed appreciation certificates and mementoes among the participants of the competition.Among others, Sub Division Magistrate Chenani, Davinder Sharma, Dy SP Chenani, ChanderjeetSingh, SHO Chenani, Sanjeev Chib, Civil Head EMSL, J.P Sharma, students and people of the area were present on the occasion.
