DDC for better synergy with media for mass awareness

To chalk out strategy for mass publicity about the objective and benefits of various developmental schemes being implemented in the district by Central as well as State Government, District Development Commissioner, Ravinder Kumar today convened an interactive session with media.During the meeting, DDC took an extensive review and feed back of Swachh Bharat Mission, Gram Swaraj Abhiyan and other social security schemes launched by the Government of India like Ujjwala, Soubhagya, Ujjala, Jan Dhan Yojana, Jewan Jyoti Bima Yojana, Suraksha Bima Yojana and Mission Indira Dhanush in detail and its effective implementation by the respective departments.Speaking on the occasion, DDC appreciated the efforts of media both print and electronic for their collective work in highlighting the various issues of public importance. DDC said that objective of holding such sessions is to ensure that the information regarding the various developmental activities in the district can be disseminated in an effective manner so that the benefit of different government schemes would percolate among the intended beneficiaries.DDC said that print and electronic media are playing a vital role for effective implementation of government welfare schemes and other activities.He further said that journalist should be aware of welfare schemes and government programmes so that they can report public issues effectively which will ultimately help public at large.
Besides this, detailed discussions were held to ensure better coordination between the department and media agencies. Suggestions were also sought from the media personnel in addressing the various problems being faced by them in connection with the dissemination of developmental activities being carried out in the district.Media persons representing different print and electronic media highlighted different issues being faced by the media and people in the meeting.Additional District Development Commissioner, Arvind Sharma, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Krishan Lal, ACR, Subash Dogra, PO ICDS Rimpy Ohri, Chief Planning Officer, Ashok Khajuria, ACD, Noor Alam, AD Planning, Darshan Kumar, and other district officers of different departments besides Media persons representing different news agencies of the district which include Correspondent Doordarshan Anil Dubey, Senior Correspondent Kashmir Times, Ramesh Gupta,Sr. Correspondent State Times, Sr. Correspondent Punjab Kesari Udhampur, Rajesh Anand, Sr. Correspondent Dainik Jagran Udhampur, Amit Mahi, Sr. Correspondent Amar Ujala, Sher Singh, Mohd Maqbool IBN7, Krishan Khajuria from Hind Samachar, Krishan Kumar, Correspondent ANI Udhampur, Surinder Paul Sharma, Arvind Singh Manhas, Arun Jasrotia, Vikram Singh, Ravi Singh, Navash, Baljit Singh attended the meeting.
