KVIC Member Dr. Hina Shafi Bhat amongst top 50 Indian women politicians

Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC), North Zone Member Dr. Hina Shafi Bhat has made it to the top 50 powerful women politicians of India.Besides, Chief Minister of Jammu & Kashmir Mehbooba Mufti, Congress National Chairperson Sonia Gandhi, Former Speaker Lok Sabha Sumitra Mahajan, Former President Pratibha Patil, Foreign Minister Sushma Swaraj, Dr. Hina finds her name in a Hindi book titled 'Bharatiya Rajneeti Ki 50 Shikhar Mahilayen' authored by Dr Asshwine Shastri which was release by Vice President of India M Venkaiah Naidu yesterday at Delhi. National Commission for Scheduled Tribes Vice Chairperson Anusuia Uikey, former Jammu and Kashmir Tourism Minister and MLA Priya Sethi and other dignitaries were present.Dr. Hina who was last year nominated as Member North Zone KVIC by Prime Minister Narendra Modi emphasized on the political and economic empowerment of women, saying that they should be given equal opportunities in all fields. Elaborating, she said economic empowerment of women was as important as their political empowerment and equal rights on parental property must be extended to women.Dr. Hina who is one of the top BJP leader from Kashmir Valley while taking over charge of Member North Zone KVIC, the Schemes especially PMEGP got a flip as the targets were increased 3 times. 

Besides, Dr. Hina herself monitored the PMEGP during various review meetings at Srinagar and Jammu by the virtue of which more employment generation as compared to previous years.Besides, Dr. Hina toured many far flung areas like Kupwara, Kargil and Leh and took first hand stock of the work of KVIC. She was of the view that KVIC is working for the upliftment of downtrodden people and this will be taken on top priority.She said women's contribution to the development of the country can never be overlooked but the time has come to ensure their due participation in various law making authorities so that they could do justice to their fellow citizens.Dr. Hina said she was humbled to find her name figuring in the book and said that this achievement is dedicated to all those women folk who have sacrificed their lives fighting for women's rights. She said that it is the end result of women's fight that today scores of schemes have been launched both by state as well as central government aimed at empowering women and giving them a dignified life.Hina Bhat was born and brought up in Srinagar. She did her schooling at Presentation Convent School Srinagar and then BDS from Pune.Doctor by profession Hina said I feel honored on being listed among the powerful women Politicians of India.
