Minister praises the principal for good results

Valid demands of teachers to be met within a fortnight, Transfer is neither a solution nor an option

Minister for School Education, Environment and Freedom Fighters Sh. OP Soni attended the annual prize distribution function held at Government Girls Sen Sec School, Mall Road. The school has around 2000 girl students and 107 teachers with a result rate of 87%. Soni distributed the prizes to students having performed in Stage Plays, Drawing, Writing, Poetry, Kavishari, Vaar Singing, Singing, Declamation, Clay Modeling, Painting, Sports etc. Applauding the performance of the students Sh. Soni acknowledged the working of the teachers as better than satisfactory. Sh. Soni also appreciated the enthusiasm of the teachers and officials organizing the career counseling fair by the name of Yuvak Mela. These fairs are organized under the guidance of State Education and Employment Counseling Bureau, Punjab. Sh. Soni addressing the gathering said that he is more than satisfied with the functioning of the school as the results are better than many. He praised the principal Mrs. Mandeep Kaur for the result. The minister said that the teachers, principals, officials bringing good results shall be honored by him and they should have noting to worry about. He added that those found shirking their responsibilities shall be brought to the book and the punishment shall not just be a transfer. The minister said that the government is spending far beyond its resources to provide quality education and health services to the citizens, so erring shall not be spared. The minister announced that the Government Girls Sen. Sec. School Mall Road is being added into the list of schools to be developed into Smart Schools, making it one of the best public schools in the region.
