Book on 'Sher Jung' presented to Jai Ram Thakur

Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur was presented a book titled 'Sher Jung- The Warrior Son of India' authored and edited by Shri Shakti S. Chandel, a retired IAS officer here today.The book gives a detailed account of life of Sher Jung a freedom fighter hailing from Sirmaur district who participated in the freedom struggle. He was associated with Shaheed Bhagat Singh, Rajguru  and Sukhdev. He suffered 14 years of imprisonment during the freedom struggle.  He was an active member of Prajamandal Movement since 1928.Chief Minister lauded the efforts of the writer and said that such publications go a long way in highlighting the contributions of our freedom fighters.Shri Shakti S. Chandel urged the Chief Minister to raise Sher Jung Memorial in the State as tribute to this great freedom fighter.
