JKLF’s Poll Boycott Campaign In North Kashmir Foiled By Police

Jammu and Kashmir police today foiled poll boycott campaign by Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) when they arrested its chairman Mohammad Yaseen Malik alongwith few other front leaders.However, official sources said it was a preventive measure to maintain law and order.A JKLF spokesman said as a part of poll boycott campaign, front chairman Mohammad Yaseen Malik was to visit Baramulla in north Kashmir.However, when Malik and other front leaders reached Pattan, a police party stopped them. Later after a brief argument, Malik and others were taken into preventive custody.Front has started poll boycott campaign in the Kashmir valley alleging that it was a futile exercise as this will not help to resolve the long standing Kashmir issue.
