Ghulam Nabi Lone Hanjura for prioritizing revenue record preservation

Minister for Revenue Ghulam Nabi Lone Hanjura today asked the concerned authorities to give due priority to the preservation of revenue record. “Preservation of precious revenue record is an important task of the Government and no unattentiveness in this regard would be tolerated” the Minister directed during his visit to MuhafizKhana (central revenue record hall), Revenue Training Institute and Directorate of Land Records and Survey here at GoleGujral.Deputy Commissioner Jammu, Rajiv K Ranjan, Regional Director Survey & Land Record Rifat Kohli and other senior officers of the revenue department were present on the occasion.The Minister inspected the key sections of the Land Records Office and Revenue Training Institute and inquired about the working procedure.The Minister was apprised that the Department has hired the services of RAM TECH Software India and assigned the job of scanning, computerization of various old revenue records besides settlement operations to the Agency.The Minister also examined the revenue record of Jammu Tehsil posted online. He also inspected the survey gadgets installed by Ram Tech India for computerization, scanning of revenue records besides use in settlement operation.

Earlier, the Minister chaired a high-level meeting to review the physical and financial achievements of revenue department. He called for administrative inspection   to ensure transparency and accountability in Revenue Department.The Minister stressed upon the retrieval of encroached state land and asked the officers to fence the reclaimed land. He said that encroachment is a serious issue and asked DCs to submit quarterly report about retrieved land in their respective districts and   reflect the concerned performance on APRs of revenue officers.Hanjura also instructed to hold regular monthly meeting of revenue officers to review the progress of public delivery.The Minister stressed upon the revenue officers to conduct regular field visits in their respective areas to listen revenue related issues of people and their on-spot redressal. The Minister asked to organize training courses for revenue officers to keep them updated so that they can perform their duties in an effective manner.
