Take necessary measures for revival of Hydro Power Sector : ACS

Necessary directions were issued to Directorate of Energy to set up a Power Sale Control Room to monitor real time generation and to increase revenue of the State Government. Further it was discussed that it would be appropriate that monitoring of all Projects including upto 5 MW Projects be carried out by one agency i.e. at Directorate of Energy level and the Monitoring of all HEPs will be web based. The LADF monitoring will also be online henceforth. The existing monitoring software will be updated in this regard. For the capacity Building of the office of Directorate of Energy regarding Power Sale, Monitoring, Safety Authority & Quality and Social Environment aspects a proposal will be prepared and accordingly the best firms in the field will be contacted for this purpose. A MoU will be undertaken with the world leader in Power Sector internationally.Further it was directed that in house capacity Building and awareness programme for the professionals of Power Sector shall be initiated so that every month a workshop/lectures of the specialist experts from Hydro Power field shall be conducted. 

The Directorate of Energy will also conduct study to reduce the cost of major financing components (CAT Plan, R&R Plan, Free Power Royalty, LADF etc.) impacting the tariff of HEP with the view to make them financially viable.It was also directed that the Directorate of Energy will assist HIMURJA to take up 10 villages under URJA GRAM Project to establish them as model villages from energy efficiency point of view by equipping with various energy efficient devices like Solar Roof top panels, Solar water Heaters, Solar Lights etc.It was directed that the Directorate of Energy will explore the possibilities for arranging International funds for financing the HEPs in the State for revival of Hydro Sector in Himachal Pradesh for which Directorate of Energy shall take up the matter with various funding agencies. Directions were imparted to DoE for arranging the meeting with the existing projects developers and the future potential Hydro Power Developers in the field for sorting out their difficulties.Dr. Ajay Sharma, Director  detailed about activities of the  Directorate. A detailed presentation regarding works and issues pertaining to Hydro Sector was given by Chief Engineer (Energy).All the senior officers of Directorate of Energy were present in the meeting.
