Vigilance Bureau Nabs PSPCL JE, Private Person In Two Different Bribery Cases

State Vigilance Bureau arrested an Assistant Junior Engineer of PSPCL and a private person for taking bribe in two different cases.Disclosing this here an official spokesperson of the Vigilance Bureau said JE Sukhjinder Gir posted at PSPCL grid at village Rohar Jagir, Patiala was arrested on the complaint of Ranjit Singh of Village Pathan Majra in Patiala district.The complaint has approached the VB and alleged that the above said JE was demanding Rs. 2,000 to replace a non-working electricity transformer on his land. It may be mentioned here that the accused JE had already taken Rs. 3000 to repair the same transformer.After verifying his information, Vigilance team laid a trap and the accused JE arrested on the spot while accepting bribe of Rs.2,000 from the complainant in the presence of two official witnesses.

In another bribery case a private person Ramandeep Singh Ahluwalia of Khanna  nabbed red handed on the complaint of Ambika Pandit, a contractor of Municipal Council Khanna. The complaint has approached the VB and alleged that the accused Ramandeep Singh was threatening him in the name of vigilance bureau to conduct an inquiry against the construction works which were allotted to him. He was demanding Rs. 1,10,000/- as a 1% commission out the total contract and had already paid Rs. 10,000 to the accused.After verifying his information, Vigilance flying squad team laid a trap and the accused Ramandeep Singh Ahluwalia was arrested on the spot while accepting bribe of Rs.50,000  as a first installment from the complainant in the presence of two official witnesses.He informed that two cases under section 7,13 (2) of Prevention of Corruption Act have been registered against both accused at VB police station Patiala and FS Mohali respectively  further investigations were under progress.
