State Vigilance Bureau, today nabbed Assistant Sub Inspector (ASI) red handed while accepting bribe of Rs 3,000.Disclosing this here an official spokesperson of the Vigilance Bureau said ASI (826/Tarntaran) Angrej Singh posted at Police Station Sarai Amanat Khan, Tarn Taran was nabbed red handed on the complaint of Mandeep Singh of village Boosey in Tarn Taran district. The Complainant has approached the VB and alleged that the accused ASI was demanding Rs 5,000 to help his uncle in a complaint case and the deal was struck at Rs. 3000/-. It may be mentioned here that the complaint had already handed over him Rs. 1500 as a bribe to the accused ASI.After verifying his information, the Vigilance team laid a trap and the accused ASI was arrested on the spot taking bribe of Rs. 3,000 from the complainant in the presence of two official witnesses. He informed that a case under Prevention of Corruption Act has been registered against him at VB police station Amritsar and further investigation was under progress.
