Rally taken out at Poonch to mark World Red Cross day

District Red Cross Society (DRCS), Poonch today celebrated Word Red Cross Day by holding a massive promotional rally of students.Additional District Development Commissioner Poonch Abdul Hamid flagged off a rally of students    from Govt. Boys Higher Secondary School, which after passing through main township areas   culminated at Qila market.Principal Boys Higher Sec. School Poonch   Sudarshan Sharma, Members of Red Cross Society, Volunteers and Staff members of different schools were also present on the occasion.The student volunteers from all the schools participated and chanted the slogans of the Red Cross movement. The theme of this year was "EVERY WHERE FOR EVERY ONE”. The world Red Cross Day is celebrated yearly on May 8, which also coincides with the Birthday of Jean Henry Dunant -the founder of Red Cross Movement.ADDC Poonch, Abdul Hamid highlighted the contribution of Henry Dunant towards the world and the strengthening of the movement at the school levels. He also thanked the participating schools, members of the District Red Cross Society and   the departments which provided logistic support in making the event successful.Among others present were Principal host  school udarshan Sharma and lecturer Khalid Amin.
