JKLF leaders take out protest rally against unabated killings

“Innocent killings can not deter Kashmiri nation from treading the path of resistance and seeking freedom. A nation that has resolved to achieve freedom cannot be intimidated by military might,” said the vice chairman of JKLF, advocate Bashir Ahmad Butt on Friday while leading a peaceful protest against unabated killings in Kashmir.A statement issued to GNS said that on the call of joint resistance leadership, JKLF leaders and activists staged a peaceful protest against unabated killing spree in Kashmir.It said thousands of people offered funeral prayers in absentia for recently slain youth. After the funeral prayers, a peaceful protest rally was held in which people from all walks of life including JKLF vice chairman Advocate Bashir Ahmad Butt, Showkat Ahmad Bakhshi, Muhammad Yasin Butt, Sheikh Abdul Rashid, Bashir Ahmad Kashmiri, Zahoor Ahmad Butt, Muhammad Sideeq Shah, Ashraf Bin Salam, Professor Javed, Meraj ud din Parray along with Hurriyat Leaders Mukhtar Ahmad Sofi, Javed Ahmad Mir, Muhammad Shafi Lone, Abdul Rashid Lone and others participated.

The protesters raised slogans in favour of freedom and against innocent killings, the statement said adding that protesters marched towards Lal Chowk and staged a sit-in near Budshah Chowk. The sit-in was addressed by Advocate Bashir Ahmad Butt and others.While condemning the killings in Kashmir, JKLF leader according to statement condemned the continued imprisonment of JKLF chairman Muhammad Yasin Malik, Noor Muhammad Kalwal and others, house detention of ailing leader and Hurriyat Conference (G) chairman Syed Ali Shah Geelani and Hurriyat Conference (M) chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq.“A ban has been put on mourning and condolences, which is highly regrettable. The choking of space on peaceful political and religious activities is like trampling all norms of democracy and ethics,” Butt said.A joint resolution of JRL was also read out and passed on the occasion; the statement said adding that many JKLF leaders read out the resolution at the various masjid, which was unanimously adopted and accepted by the people, the statement added.
