‘Dev Bhoomi Main Yug Ka Aant’ programme was organized here at Gaiety Theatre today by Kapson Music (P) Ltd in collaboration with the Shimla Sports and Cultural Association, Nursing College and Ekta Shakti Sewa Samiti, Rampur to pay tribute to child Yug, who was brutally killed a few years back in Shimla town.Speaking on the occasion Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur said the Himachal Pradesh which is also known as Dev Bhoomi was shamed by the unfortunate incidents like Yug murder and Gudiya incident. This not only indicates towards degradation of human values, but also warns us about the changing human attitude.While paying homage to child Yug, the Chief Minister said that a four year child was kidnapped and brutally murdered by some mindless and inhuman person. Similar was the case of Gudiya, where a 10th standard girl got missing and after two day was found brutally murdered. He said that the State was shamed by these acts of brutality and each one of us has responsibility to sensitize the people.Jai Ram Thakur said that programmes of such magnitude would go a long way in sensitizing the people regarding issues such as female feticide, women discrimination, untouchability and crime against women. He said that the change in mindset was essential to bring change in our society for peaceful coexistence.

The Chief Minister also launched Him Vahani magazine and CD of songs dedicated to child Yug and website pharisanskriti.com.'Meri Batien Mera Samman' award was given to Dr Sadhna Thakur wife of the Chief Minister. Pinki Gupta, mother of child Yug was also honoured on the occasion. Several other dignitaries from different fields were also honoured for their outstanding achievements in different fieldsPraant Pracharak, RSS Sanjeevan said that the Indian culture and traditions were ancient and teaches us peaceful co-existence with love and compassion. He said that our culture teaches us to love and respect all. Not only human beings, our culture teaches us even to worship rivers and mountains, he added. He said that education was not just mugging few books, but it should make us true human being, who respects all.He said that our culture teaches us to have great respect for women. He said it was unfortunate that today female feticide was on rise even in the Dev Bhoomi, Himachal. He said that that each one of us should have respect for their culture only than India can once again become ‘Vishava Guru’.Sandeep Mastana detailed various activities being undertaken to pay homage to Yug and Gudiya.Former MLA Govind, Mayor Municipal Corporation Shimla Kusum Sedrate, Deputy Mayor Rakesh Sharma and Councilors were also present of the occasion among others.
