With a view to revive the state industry and infuse life into sick units, the Minister for Industry and Commerce Sunder Sham Arora said that Punjab government will soon introduce one-time settlement policy in the state and industrial friendly environment is being created to give impetus to the industrial development in the state.ddressing huge gathering of industrialists during his maiden visit to the industrial hub of the state, Minister said that thousands of units got shut down in the state due to wrong policies of the previous SAD-BJP government in its 10-year's regime hence Industry sector registered sharp decline and Punjab.He asserted the government led by Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh is committed to reviving the industry in Punjab and one-settlement policy is a just first step to give much-needed relief to those sick units who went into severe losses.Calling them the backbone of Punjab's development, Arora said that the industrialists will have the complete freedom to raise their issues and problems before the government and they will not have a need to shift their units out of the state.

He said that to attract the more investment, the Punjab government has also introduced a new industrial policy which is set to bring investments worth Rs 60,000 crore in the state.He also ensured the business community that as the government has banned truck union; Inspector Raj and all kind of mafia will be eliminated from the state.Arora added that Ludhiana airport will get more air connectivity in the coming days as more flights would start operating from here which will help the industrialists.He also claimed that there is not any shortage of electricity in Punjab and the industry sector will continue to get the power on a flat rate of Rs 5 per unit and ensured the small scale industries to get this benefit.On the occasion, he also announced Rs 10 crore for the repair and maintenance of Focal Points in Ludhiana.Punjab Food, Civil Supplies, and Consumer Affairs Minister Bharat Bhushan Ashu and Member of Parliament (MP) Ravneet Singh Bittu also told minister about the problems being faced by Ludhiana industry.They stated that Punjab government would implement it's each and every promise made to them and targeted previous SAD-BJP government for pushing down the industry section far behind in Punjab.

On the occasion, Industry and Commerce department's principal secretary Rakesh Kumar Verma, Punjab Small Industries and Export Corporation (PSIEC) Managing Director Rajat Aggarwal, Industry and Commerce department's director DPS Kharbanda also informed the businessmen about the efforts of Punjab government.Principal Secretary Rakesh Kumar Verma appealed the industrialists to take benefit of Central Government's program by forming clusters.PSIEC Managing Director Rajat Aggarwal revealed that the work of Cycle Vally in Dhannsu is set to complete within three months and PSIEC would also open in Zonal offices in Ludhiana, Jalandhar, Sri Amritsar Sahib.On the occasion, the renowned industrialists revealed the minister about the issues and gave suggestions for betterment of industry.MLAs Surinder Dabar, Sanjay Talwar, Kuldeep Singh Vaid, Mayor Balkar Singh Sandhu,Senior Deputy Mayor Sham Sunder Malhotra, deputy commissioner Pradeep Kumar Agrawal, Police Commissioner Sukhchain Singh Gill, District Congress Chief Gurpreet Singh Gogi, senior Congress leader Kamaljeet Singh Karwal, Raman Subramanium, Rajiv Raja,Ramesh Joshi, Kulwant Singh Sidhu and other were present.Earlier, the guard of honour was given to minister by police.
