64th Republic Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm and fervour throughout Himachal Pradesh today and State-level function was held at the historic Ridge Maidan here today.  Smt. Urmila Singh, Governor unfurled the National Flag and took salute at an impressive march-past presented by the contingents of Army Regiments, ITBP, SSB, Police, Home- Guards, , NCC and Ex-servicemen, Scouts and NSS.Major Parjodh Singh Cheema, 20-Sikh Regiment commanded the parade.The tableaux exhibited by various Departments were main highlights of the function.  Cultural programmes were presented by various cultural troupes of the State and Information and Public Relations Department besides Song and Drama pision, Shimla .

Shri Virbhadra Singh, Chief Minister, Shri Rajesh Dharmani, Shri Vinay Kumar, Chief Parliamentary Secretaries,  Shri Suresh Bhardwaj,  Shri Anirudh Singh, Shri Mohan Lal Brakta, Shri Balbir  Singh Verma, MLAs, Shri Chandreshwar Prasad, Chairman, Zila Parishad, Shimla,  Shri Kuldeep Singh Pathania, Chairman, Pollution Control Board, Shri Sanjay Chauhan, Mayor, Shimla Municipal Corporation, Shri Tikender Panwar, Deputy Mayor, Shimla Municipal Corporation, councillors of Shimla Municipal Corporation,  Shri A.D.N. Bajpayee, Vice Chancellor, H.P. University, Shimla, Shri S. Roy, Chief Secretary, Shri I.D. Bhandari, Director General of Police,  Shri  Dinesh Malhotra, Deputy Commissioner, Chairmen and Vice-Chairmen of various Boards and Corporations, Chairman, H.P. Public Service Commission,  leaders of various political parties, Freedom Fighters, prominent persons of the town, Senior Civil, Police and Military Officers were also present on the occasion among others.
