Students hit streets against civilian killings in Kashmir

Students of Islamic University of Science and Technology (IUST), Awantipora and Central University of Kashmir (CUK) today staged a protest demonstration against civilian killings.Reports said that the students of various departments of IUST campus assembled near the main entrance to raise their voice against the civilians killing. Amid pro-freedom, anti-India slogans they demanded immediate end to the civilian killings in Kashmir.Meanwhile, the students of Central University of Kashmir (CUK) also staged a protest demonstration against the civilian killings.Students shouted pro-freedom and anti-India slogans.One of the students said that “We are protesting against the civilian killings. The protest concluded peacefully and normal class work is going on.”Meanwhile Scores of University of Kashmir (KU) students also protested against the killing of civilians and assistant professor turned militant Dr Mohmmad Rafi in Badigam gunfight in district Shopian.Reports said that students of different departments assembled outside the Allama Iqbal library staged protests against the killings.The protesting students were carrying a banner reading “In memory of Shaheed Dr Mohd Rafi and all those who died for our freedom.”Seven civilians and militants were killed during two separate gunfights in district Srinagar and south Kashmir since last one week in Kashmir.  (PTK)
