Violence in the name of Cow Vigilantism would not be tolerated : Balbir Singh Sidhu

Instructed the officers to complete ongoing projects in time bound manner

Animal Husbandry, Dairy Development and Labour Minister of Punjab, Balbir Singh Sidhu took strong notice of the violence in the name of cow vigilantism and said that these kinds of nefarious activities on the name of cow protection would not be tolerated in the state.  If anyone found indulged in taking law in his hands, he would have to face stern action according to the law.After the meeting of officers of Animal Husbandry and labour Department, Mr. Sidhu said that if anyone found guilty of harming the interest of the farmers on the name of cow protection, then such any social elements would be brought to books.Prior to this, He reviewed the various ongoing schemes and projects of the respective Departments and instructed the concerned officials to complete the projects in stipulated time. He further said that he recently visited the Rauni and Nabha farms and all the things are well placed. He also said that the department will develop the Indigenous breed of cows Sahiwal because this breed is more familiar in this atmosphere. If we are successful in producing 30 to 32 kilogram Milk from a cow every day, then it would be helpful in many ways to enhance the income of the farmers. He said that Government is committed to protect the rights of Dairy Farmers.Mr. Sidhu directed the officials to speed up distribution of funds. He said that he will review the compliance of the orders in a separate meeting in few days. He also directed the officials to fulfill the backlog of registration of construction workers and said that emoluments of workers be paid in a stipulated time. He asked to constitute the committee at the level of SDM to scrutinize the rejected applications of the workers.In this meeting Sanjay Kumar, Principal Secretary Labour, Sodhi Mall, Additional Director Factories Punjab, Harkesh Chand Sharma Macchli Kalan, Political Secretary to the Cabinet Minister and Mona Puri, Additional Labour Commissioner Punjab were also present.
