A modern civic solid waste management plant would be established in Baddi-Barotiwala-Nalagarh industrial area for effectively controlling and minimizing pollution in this area. This was stated by Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur while presiding over the meeting of Baddi-Barotiwala-Nalagarh Industries Association held here on Thursday evening on the theme ‘Himachal Industries Post Incentive Era Turning Aspirations into Realities’.Jai Ram Thakur announced Rs 3 crore for this plant and said that the plant would go a long way in keeping check on pollution in this industrial area. He said the state government was working for rapid industrialization but at the same time the government was committed for maintaining the pristine environment of the State.He said that the special industrial package for the state given by former Prime Minister Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee helped in giving big boost to the industrialization. The post incentive package era although had posed a challenge to the state but the government would ensure that the entrepreneurs get best possible investment environment. He said that he recently called on Prime Minister Narendra Modi and urged him to provide some incentives to Himachal Pradesh on the analogy of North Eastern states so that the pace of industrialization did not suffer.Jai Ram Thakur said that the post GST era had made an even platform for the entrepreneurs to invest in any part of the country. Himachal Pradesh had an edge over the other states as it had abundance hydel power, better law and order, peaceful industrial atmosphere and responsive administration, which the entrepreneurs do not get in other states. The State also had some impediments keeping in view its topography, but the government was committed to remove the same in order to facilitate the investors, he added.

The Chief Minister said that efforts would be made to establish a trauma centre at Baddi. He said that the state government would also ensure that the administrative system in BBN Area was strengthened and made more effective.He announced waiving-off the rental charges of industrial plots and reduction of land sale tax of unearned industrial plots from the existing 50 percent, 30 percent and 20 percent to 20 percent, 10 percent and 5 percent respectively as per the size of the plots. He said that the state government would explore possibilities to simplify Section 118 to facilitate the entrepreneurs. He said that all three major roads in the Baddi-Barotiwala-Nalagarh area would be upgraded by spending Rs. 30 crore.The BBNI Association presented a cheque of Rs. 38.37 lakh to the Chief Minister towards the Chief Minister's Relief Fund.  He thanked the industrialists for their contribution and said that this would go a long way in helping the needy at the time of distress.Industries Minister Bikram Singh said that the endeavour of the state government was to make Himachal Pradesh as the most industrially developed state of the country. He said that the Baddi-Barotiwala and Nalagarh area had emerged as the best industrial area and the government would take all possible steps to make this area as the ideal industrial hub of the country. He said that the efforts of the State were to disperse industries to the inner areas of the State. The industrialists should also ensure that the interests of the state were protected, he added. He urged the entrepreneurs to provide at least 80 percent employments in upcoming industrial units to Himachali youths.President, BBN Industries Association Sailesh Aggrawal welcomed the Chief Minister and other dignitaries on the occasion.Former President of the Association Rajinder Guleria gave a power point presentation on the occasion. He also highlighted various demands of the Association.MLA   Parmajeet Singh Pammi, Chief Secretary Vineet Chawdhry, Additional Chief Secretaries Dr. Srikant Baldi,   Ram Subhag Singh, Nisha Singh and Tarun Kapoor, Principal Secretary, Industries R.D Dhiman, Director, Industries Rajesh Sharma, CEO, Baddi Brotiwala Nalagarh Development Authority K.C. Chaman, Advisor, Industries Rajinder Chauhan, Advisor Planning Basu Sood were present on the occasion among others.
