Sports Minister Congratulates Department On Commencing Sports Wings Of Schools On Time

The Sports Minister, Punjab, Rana Gurmeet Singh Sodhi today disclosed that 4000 male and female players have been admitted in the sports wings of the schools for year 2018-19. He also said that it is the first time that the Sports Department has admitted the players by completing the trials of sports wings at the very outset of the session.He further revealed that it has also happened for the first time that the selection trials were held in every district of the state and the players have been admitted in the month of April itself and supplementary diet started. The minister congratulated the departmental officers and the coaches for this effort.In a statement here, Mr. Rana Sodhi also added that this year the trials for sports wings in the schools for 2018-19 were conducted by the sports department in January itself. The selected players have been given admission in the sports wings of schools in the districts.The Director, Sports Department, Mrs. Amrit Kaur Gill divulging more said that the admissions for the sports wings in the colleges would be held in the month of July this year when the session begins. She also said that the trials for college sports wings would take place in June.
