No Need To Panic As People's Interest Won't Be Harmed, Says Local Government Minister

In pursuance to the matter related to the recently collapsed under construction building at Peer Muchhalla in Zirakpur within the limits of Municipal Council Zirakpur and belonging to the imperial gardens/pushp empire, the Local Government Minister, Punjab Mr. Navjot Singh Sidhu today ordered that pending the magisterial enquiry into the matter and keping in view the public interest no building plan with regard to the Municipal Council Zirakpur is to be passed and besides this, there would also be a ban on the excavation of the basements plus the empty buildings  of pushp empire would be sealed. The decision pertaining to the buildings where people are living would be taken separately later on but there is no need for people to panic as people's interest would not be harmed, said Mr. Sidhu.Disclosing this in a statement today, the minister further added that the sphere of the probe team in the case has been widened to include Mrs. Gurpreet Kaur Sapra Deputy Commissioner S.A.S. Nagar, Director Local Government Mr. Karnesh Sharma, Chief Engineer (B & R), Chief Architect Punjab, Representative of the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), Chief Vigilance Officer Local Government Department and Representative of Punjab Engineering College (PEC). The team would submit its report by 27th April, 2018.
