DDC Bandipora reviews preparation for Swachh Bharat Divas

District Development Commissioner   (DDC) Bandipora, Khursheed Ahmad Sanai today organized series of meetings here to review the different activities in the district.The DDC convened a meeting of concerned officers to review the programme for celebration of Swachh Bharat Divas being celebrated on April 18.It was given out that cleanliness movement will be launched in all Gram Panchayats, especially those which are not Open Defecation Free (ODF) yet, besides in hospitals, Government Offices, Wullar lake surroundings and schools of the district. The Ambassadors will visit the Panchayats to review the progress of Swachh Bharat Mission (SBM). It was also informed that Swachh Rallies will be conducted at Panchayat and Block level while as mobilization of local celebrities and religious leaders will deliver sanitation related messages on the occasion.The meeting was informed that about 20 Gram Panchayats will be declared ODF while as 300 beneficiaries will be provided assistance of RS. 12,000 each under SBM on the scheduled date. For this purpose, nodal officers have been directed to upload photographs of daily activities on web portal.In another meeting, the DDC also took stock of the facilities being provided to Persons with Disabilities (PWD's) during election process so that these people can also make use of their right to franchise. On the occasion it was informed that special training and sensitization sessions for the election machinery will be conducted to address the needs of PWD's.

On the occasion, the DDC directed the concerned to strictly abide by the guidelines of ECI for PWD's. The Dy DEO, ACR, Nodal Officer SVEEP, Programme Officer ICDS, Nodal Officer ISM were present.In a separate meeting with Officers of ICDS, Health and Police, the DDC discussed threadbare to finalization programme for establishment of One Staff Centre in the district. It was given out that the One Staff Centre shall be comprised of 5 bedded room which should be located near hospital where one legal assistant, one medical assistant and one doctor should be available. During any untoward incident, temporary shelter for 5 days shall be provided to the distressed girls in the One Staff Centre besides other facilities.It was also given out that a separate meeting will be held with the NGO's who have submitted technical bids for establishment of One Staff Centre.Among others CPO Abdul Majeed, Programme Officer ICDS, CMO, Deputy CEO, CDPO Hajin and other concerned were present.
