CGC Jhanjeri Among Top Three Colleges of Punjab in Hackathon

Chandigarh Group of Colleges, Jhanjeri is honored as one of the just three colleges of Punjab who have been selected for an amount of Rs. 3 Lakhs each for post development activities of Smart India Hackathon 2017. A list of 49 colleges selected all over India, has been released by AICTE, New Delhi under the aegis of Ministry of HRD for development activities of Smart India 2017. Smart India 2017 has been a unique initiative to identify new digital solutions for solving challenges faced by our country. The event was held in April 2017 (36 hours non-stop digital product development competition). During this competition teams of 9544 technology students built innovative digital solutions for 598 problems raised by 29 different Central Govt. Ministries simultaneously at 26 different Nodal Centres & achieved the goal successfully. The solutions given by 49 teams belonging to 16 different states of the country were honored by the organizers & they were given cash prizes. 

Now in March 2018, each of these 49 teams has been sanctioned an amount of Rs. 3 lacs for developing their respective solutions further. Apart from CGC Jhanjeri, the other colleges of Punjab who have been selected for this honor include LPU Phagwara & BCET, Gurdaspur.Congratulating the staff & students, Rashpal Singh Dhaliwal, President CGC motivated them to do their best so that the solution provided by CGC Jhanjeri is rated as one of the best solutions. He declared that in addition to Rs. 3 lacs given by AICTE, if more funds are needed, the management of CGC Jhanjeri will provide the same. Dr. G.D.Bansal, Director General said that the students of CGC Jhanjeri are known for their innovative ideas resulting into some projects useful for the society & the college has also  filed a number of applications for the patents of these ideas.
