Clerical staff protest pay anomaly

Amid lock out strike, Jammu Kashmir Ladakh All Departments Clerical Staff Association (JKLADCSA) Monday staged protest outside Deputy Commissioner office Srinagar for the removal of pay disparity of clerical staff.The association had called for State wide protest while the same were held at all the district headquarters across State including Srinagar and Jammu.The Association has approached to the state government for redressel of pay disparity/anomaly, in response to which the state government has constituted Pay Anomaly Committee in 2007 vide order No. 1403-GAD of 2007 dated 07-12-2007 and vide order No. 67-GAD of 2012 dated 16-01-2012 and the said committee has submitted its recommendation to the government in favour of the Clerical Cadres. 

Instead of implementation of recommendations, the state government has constituted one more Pay Anomaly Committee to review the said recommendations within time bound period but after lapse of 2 years the said committee has not submitted its report to the government yet,” Association General Secretary Jeelani Naik said.  “Former State Finance Minister Haseeb Drabu had announced and assured the Clerical Cadre that the orders in this respect will be issued on 9th Jan 2017.” He added that the Finance Minister had repeated his announcement in the Assembly during his budget speech on 15th Jan 2017, however, till date commitment has not taken final shape. When contacted Finance Minister Syed Altaf Bukhari told CNS that he will look into the matter of these protesting clerks. “I will go into the details and will address their grievances,” he added.
