Jai Ram Thakur lays foundation stone of Transport Nagar at Solan

Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur today inaugurated and laid foundation stone of various developmental projects worth Rs 21.22 crore in Solan Assembly constituency.While addressing a largely attended public meeting and ‘Social Justice Day’ (Samajik Nayay Divas) celebrations held to commemorate 128th birth anniversary of Bharat Rattan Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar at Solan, said that Dr. Ambedkar was a Bharat Rattan in real sense as he was not only founder of the constitution of India but also a thinker and scholar par excellence. Dr. Ambedkar worked for social justice to all and the present Union Government headed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi was committed to provide social justice to all.The Chief Minister said that the Transport Nagar, foundation stone of which was laid today at Kather (Solan), would have 171 workshops, 136 show rooms along-with proper parking, junk yard and other infrastructural facilities. He said that the government on the day one of assuming office fixed clear agenda for the development of the State and these 100 days have witnessed the resolve of the government to its commitment towards development. He said that all the new schemes announced by the government have adequate provision of finances.He said that the previous state government announced several schemes without any adequate budget provisions including 16 degree colleges. The previous Government even failed to prepare DPRs of 69 national highways sanctioned by the Modi government for the State.

Earlier, the Chief Minister launched the Gram Swaraj Abhiyan for the State from Solan. The campaign was simultaneously launched from all gram panchayats, development blocks and districts. He also launched National Nutrition Mission from Aanganbari Centre, Kather and served mid day meal to the children of Primary School Kather.He inaugurated MC Park in Ganj Bazar Solan constructed at a cost of 28.64 lakhs. He laid foundation stones of Police Station building of State Vigilance and Anti Corruption Bureau at Kather to be constructed at a cost of Rs. 1.91 crore, Transport Nagar at Kather which would cost Rs. 16.14 crore, e-NAM infrastructure (e-auction hall, laboratory, office, canteen and parking) and staff quarters at Sabzi Mandi Solan to be constructed at cost of Rs.2.88 crore.He also launched ‘Ujjala’ and ‘Saubhagya Yojana’ under Pradhan Mantri Sahaj Bejli Har Ghar Yojana for launching special campaign till 5th May for providing electricity connection to every house. Under this scheme, LED Bulbs would be distributed by Energy Efficiency Services Limited. He also launched cleanliness campaign from bus stand Solan.The Chief Minister announced to erect statue of Dr. Ambedkar at Solan, filling up 10 posts of Doctors in Solan hospital, construction of Shamti bye pass by spending Rs. 5 crore, enhancement of Giri lift water scheme at a cost of Rs. 5 crore, Rs. 4.23 crore for irrigation scheme to Skadi village and Rs. 4.93 crore for Dharja-Sangrad water supply scheme. He also announced Rs. 1.18 crore for LWSS Pati Kolian and additional Rs. 2 crore for building of Degree College Kandaghat. He announced to enhance amount under Dr. B.R. Ambedkar scholarship scheme from Rs. 10,000 to Rs. 12,000.The Chief Minister was honoured by various social and cultural organizations and associations. He also honoured various social workers on behalf of Samajik Dalit Peedit Utthan Sansthan on the occasion.Maa Durga Motor Market Association presented a cheque of Rs 51000 to the Chief Minister towards Chief Minister's Relief Fund. Ganesh Dutt Shashtri presented a cheque of Rs 21000, NGO Association Solan a cheque of Rs. 11000 and HPSEB Pensioners Welfare Association a cheque of Rs. 11000 to the Chief Minister towards the CMRF.

Speaker, HP Vidhan Sabha Dr. Rajiv Bindal said that the hard work of the farmers of Solan district has not only made Solan as Mushroom City of the country but now the town has earned the name in production of tomato as well. He said that real development of society was possible only with welfare of each and every section of the society. He urged the Chief Minister for strengthening of Solan Hospital.Urban Development Minister Sarveen Chaudhary said that the development in the State had gained moment under the leadership of the Chief Minister. She said that his simplicity and commitment was unique and inspiring for one and all.Social Justice and Empowerment Minister Dr. Rajiv Saizal said that the State Government under the leadership of Jai Ram Thakur was committed for the welfare of poor and under privileged people. He thanked the Chief Minister for allocating Rs 1583 crore under the SC Sub Plan in the current financial year. Member of Parliament and President Samajik Dalit Peedit Utthan Sansthan Verender Kashyap said that Dr. Ambedkar not only drafted the Constitution of India but also worked relentlessly for the up-liftment of the poor and downtrodden.BJP Leaders Rajesh Kashyap said that the Transport Nagar at Kather would help the auto workshop owners displaced due to four lane work of Parwanoo-Shimla road to earn their livelihood.MLA Paramjeet Singh Pammi, former MLA Govind Ram Sharma, Vice Chairman Khadi Board Prashotam Guleria, Chairperson State Women Commission Daizy Thakur, OSD to the Chief Minister Shishu Dharma, State BJP Vice President Ganesh Dutt, Nagar Parishad Solan Chairman Devender Thakur were also present on the occasion among others.
