The J&K Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) President G.A. Mir today expressed profound grief over the unabated loss of lives due to regular incidents of encounters in South Kashmir and elsewhere in the valley, urging that the killings must end from either side in the larger interests of peace.Expressing deep sorrow over the loss of lives in Khudwani (Kulgam) today, G.A. Mir said that the blood bath in valley has crossed all limits for which both State and Centre Govt were fully responsible, as that they (Centre and State) lacks any policy, indicative of utter failure of the Govt on all counts, the situation in the valley has turned from bad to worse, he said. The loss of civilians and injuries to dozens, as well as that of Security Forces  during the encounter at Kudwani Kulgam, was highly painful and I have no words to express grief. G.A. Mir said and expressed   anguish over the extremely volatile situation arising in the valley, from time to time. One fails to understand as to what the Centre & State is doing in this regard, despite the loss of lives, both PDP BJP have not able to restore calm, the matter of the fact was that they have lost the control over the situation, which is very unfavorable and dangerous, fraught with serious consequences.Slamming both State & Centre Govt for failing to restore calm in valley, the JKPCC President described the prevailing situation as an outcome of the wrong policies on the part of PDP BJP, who have never been on the same page with regard to Kashmir situation. There is a need to adopt holistic approach to reach out to people to address the problems, G.A. Mir added and urged upon the Centre to ensure peaceful atmosphere in valley, so that the loss of lives from either side could be avoided.Urging upon the Forces to exercise maximum restraint while dealing with situation, he urged that Forces must ensure that civilians are not killed or injured, but at the sametime, he reiterated his appeal to people especially youth to stop confronting Forces and maintain calm in the larger interests of safety of life and property.
