The Vice President of India, Shri M. Venkaiah Naidu has said that democracy is the ideal system of governance and Shri Atal ji has succeeded in preserving it. He was addressing the gathering after releasing the Books on former Prime Minister, Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee, ‘Sarvapriya Atalji’, ‘Jannayak Atalji’ and ‘Atal Jeevan Gatha’, here today. The Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs and Statistics & Programme Implementation, Shri Vijay Goel and other dignitaries were present on the occasion.The Vice President said that Books have been the ideal mirror of society and in that mirror, the image of the ideals of society is influenced, so any book is full of its true meaning. He further said that it is the greatness of the life of Shri Atal ji that it is a challenging task in him to crimp it in words. But one thing is true that Shri Atal ji was a good poet first and later an ideal politician, he added.The Vice President said that everyone knows that the personality of Shri Atal ji fulfilled all the resolutions taken for this country and persisted on all his promises. He further said that Shri Atal ji has been the patron of the values of democracy and the value of voting and he always went on to serve the nation and went about unity and consent in all the circumstances. Because of his qualities, he became the first politician of the country who first formed a coalition government, he added.The Vice President said that Shri Atal ji always preferred public welfare and he was always worried about farmers, poor people, uneducated, destitute and neglected classes. For this, he initiated several welfare schemes which, in its own right, were made for new development for the country, he added.The Vice President said that democracy is the ideal system of governance and Shri Atal ji has succeeded in preserving it. For this reason his rule was remembered as good governance, he added.
