District Police Kargil today organized a one-day interschool quiz completion at Government Higher Secondary School Yurbaltak Kargil.The programme was organized under its Civic Action Programme (CAP). Around 30 students from nine schools of Sodh area participated in the event.Deputy Commissioner Kargil Haji Gulzar Hussain was the chief guest while as Senior Superintendent of Police Kargil Tsering Gylapo was the guest of honor on the occasion.Deputy Commissioner Kargil lauded the initiative of District Police Kargil for organizing the quiz competition. He said such type of programmes provides opportunities to the youngsters to brush up their level of knowledge about different subjects. He also announced Rs 2000 for development of Higher Secondary School Yurbaltak.SSP Kargil in his speech highlighted the activities being undertaken by District Police Kargil under CAP. He said to give a boost to police public relations in the district, a number of activities like archery and ice hockey, competitions, debates, symposia and several others events are conducted on regular intervals, adding  that the quiz competition is  another initiative in this regard.The teams comprising of the students of Government Higher Secondary School Yurbaltak, Kargil, Middle School Styangs Chutumail and Middle School Garpong Apati   which achieved first three places respectively in the competition were awarded with certificates and cash prizes of Rs 3000, 2000 and 1500. Besides, other participants were also awarded certificates of participation.Additional Deputy Commissioner Kargil Imteeaz Kacho, Deputy Superintendent of Police DAR Kargil Rigzin Sandup, Senior Prosecuting Officer Nawang Nurboo, Principal Higher Secondary School Yurbaltak Muhammad Ishaq, SHO Kargil Ghulam Ali besides other officers of the administration were present on the occasion.The event was witnessed by large number of students and people of the area.Later stationery items were also distributed among the students.
